Next month will be a year since I began coming to Balanced Bodies for bioidentical HRT. Up until last week it was a pleasant experience. But unfortunately things have changed, which is why I have waited to write this review. Unlike regular clinics they dont accept insurance so every treatment and blood test has to be paid for out of pocket. The progesterone pills that I take are $80 for a 30 day supply + $15 to ship them from the compounding pharmacy in Florida. Last year I experienced a job loss and I have been trying to survive on a very small income. The clinic manager (Ryan) and nurse are very aware of my current financial situation. As a result it has become really difficult for me to pay almost $100 per month for the pills. As a result I phoned the clinic last week to request that they change my refill from the expensive compounding pharmacy to generic progesterone that I can pick up from a regular Walgreens pharmacy, which would cost no more than $20 for the refill. I also explained that my progesterone is finished and that I had not taken them for over a week. What happened next is the reason that this review is a 1 star. While on the phone with a temporary nurse that is covering while the regular nurse is gone. I was told that the clinic owner charges $100 for them to press a button and send a prescription refill. Explained to her that I can no longer afford high cost pills everytime that I need a refill. Told her that I have never seen any clinic charge $100 just to send a prescription for a generic drug to a pharmacy. She then stated that she would speak with clinic manager (Ryan) and if he said no she would proceed to speak with the clinic owner and call me back. When she called back she told me that the clinic manager (Ryan) stated that he could offer me the membership price of $75 to send the prescription. Lets do the math....going from $95 compound pharmacy pills to paying $75 just for the nurse to press a button and send the refill to Walgreens = $75 + $20 cost of the pills. That brings me right back to paying $95 that I dont have. Now she tells me that she will have to speak with the clinic owner and call me back. Well this time my phone rings and its Ryan. He tells me that the owner can offer to send the prescription to Walgreens for $50 and then proceeds to try and justify charging for a button press....he stated that staff has to be paid and hes not working for free. At this point I am really annoyed by the fact that he doesnt see how UNETHICAL and GREEDY this is. No doctors office says to a patient that they must pay for a prescription to be sent to a pharmacy. He proceeds to explain that the compounding pharmacy charges the clinic for the progesterone. Told him that is the reason that I want to switch to a generic from Walgreens. Now hes going back and forth trying to justify the money grab by saying that the clinic manages my care. Translation.....we want to make money on everything that we do at the clinic and that includes a 2 minute button press to send a prescription. Again no clinic that I have ever been to charges $100 to press a computer button and send a refill to Walgreens. This is the moment that I realized that this clinic only cares about $$$. GREED should never come before patient health! Make $$$ on the other services offered by the clinic but stop trying to make $$$ on a button press to a Walgreens pharmacy. When a patient states that they have no more medication due to the high cost just send the refill request to Walgreens. Now its been over 2 weeks that I have been without my prescription. Completely outrageous! I can no longer recommend this clinic.......it is a shining example of the greedy healthcare system in America.

I just spent 10 minutes on the phone speaking with Ryan. No wonder y’all have 5 stars across the board. Ryan answered every question that I had and then answered questions I should have asked as an active consumer. If you are checking reviews for the services offered by such a practice as Balanced Bodies you should strongly consider Balaced Bodies. Thank you Ryan.
