I couldn’t be more pleased with my first experience at Luminaire Skin + Wellness Studio. The Midtown location was super convenient for me. The studio is gorgeous, with great presence and aesthetic as soon as you walk through the door. The drama of tall loft ceilings, and yet the soft and demure couches and colors and textures throughout give way to tranquility. What a perfect way to start. Lauryn was very patient and informative with all of my questions or concerns. She thoroughly explained the micro needling process, why that was my best option mapped out a wellness plan moving forward. Lauryn is simply a master of her craft. With a gentle hand and deliberate applications, she makes your facial feel like an elevated experience. She provides excellent aftercare with a bevy of products ready to keep your skin glowing. This “esthetician” has removed my reviews not once, but twice on Vagaro and Google Reviews. She has a history of PERMANENTLY damaging skin and lying when confronted with evidence of improper care. I had the unfortunate experience of receiving chemical peels from Lauryn, and the treatment severely damaged my skin. My face was badly burned, leaving me with PIH (post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) and permanent dark marks that I am still struggling with almost 1.5 years later. When I originally left a review, it was removed. Lauryn responded by gaslighting me and falsely blaming me for “improper aftercare,” even though I was in constant communication with her throughout the healing process and documented everything with photos and updates. Instead of taking accountability or showing concern, she was rude, dismissive, and cruel during an extremely distressing time in my life. I was very young when this happened, and looking back now, I’m shocked by how poorly I was treated — both professionally and personally. I was never offered help, support, compensation, or even a genuine apology. Instead, I was blamed for damage that happened under her care. Please do not support this business. Advertising yourself as an empathetic skincare provider means nothing if you refuse accountability when someone’s skin is harmed. A true professional would document treatments properly, monitor complications responsibly, and MOST IMPORTANTLY prioritize client safety over protecting their reputation. If you are considering chemical peels or advanced skin treatments, please go to a licensed dermatologist or a qualified professional who truly understands skin health and patient care. Hopefully this honest review is not removed for a third time.
