A good doctor can still lose patients because of a bad front desk experience. *UPDATE: I am updating my review because the Office Manager, Kerry, reached out to me directly. She took my concerns seriously and has already held a front desk meeting to coach staff on customer service, tone, and patience. I appreciate the swift management response and accountability. I have a follow-up appointment coming up, and I will make my final star rating decision based on how that visit goes. TD (6/21/26). *OP Dr. LaCour was nice, and I had a good experience with him overall, also shout out to the nurse who took my information; she was super professional and kind. Unfortunately, the front desk and check-out experience was disappointing. Check-in felt unclear after my insurance card was handed back with no next steps, but the bigger issue was check-out. The receptionist was passive aggressive and rude while I was trying to schedule a follow-up and confirm dates with my spouse. Her tone was impatient and disrespectful, which made the visit uncomfortable. Afterward, I noticed several recent Google reviews mentioning similar front desk issues. I’m not sure if there has been a staffing change, but based on my visit, this seems like a current customer service issue management could address. Even though Dr. LaCour was kind, the experience has made me consider canceling my follow-up and going elsewhere. I don’t want to keep returning to an office where basic kindness and professionalism are treated as optional. I'm open to providing additional feedback if management is interested.

The staff was above and beyond excellent. Everyone was so kind to me. The office was gorgeous and clean. The process to book, come in, and get treatment was so easy. My nurse practitioner who did my injections was an angel on earth. I felt so calm and confident after speaking with her about a treatment plan. And don’t get me started on the women who helped me first in the room (nurse? MA? tech?) She secured me as a long term patient. Honestly I wish this staff was my PCP office!! Just the best experience. Thank you to all of them for taking good care of me.

I highly recommend Dr. Matthew LaCour. He has done a couple of procedures for me now, and I’ve been impressed with how minimal the scarring is. He is both efficient and friendly, which makes the whole experience much more comfortable. I really appreciate that he doesn't push unnecessary cosmetic procedures. He has also been very helpful with hair loss prevention, providing options I wasn't even aware of that don't impact hormones. If you're looking for a doctor who is knowledgeable and gives you honest, practical options, he is a great choice.

Westlake Derm in downtown Austin with Dr LaCour and his team of MAs is the only place I trust with my derm needs both medical and cosmetic. Dr. LaCour stands out to me for his exceptional attention to detail; he takes the time to listen and understand the full context of my concerns, both medical and cosmetic. His meticulous and careful approach ensures the best possible care and natural-looking results. His whole team of MA has been exceptional particularly MA Donna is warm, professional, and supportive throughout the process as well. The downtown location is convenient, and the entire clinic makes you feel valued and confident. Top-notch experience that I recommend to everyone in my downtown network!

Had a really disappointing experience today with Jamie Cantu. I came in for a consultation for a facial, I was very excited and also a little nervous because I have pretty sensitive skin. Instead of listening to my concerns, Jamie was rude, dismissive and outright unprofessional. I was asking about using the most sensitive products on my skin and she responded “none of my clients come in looking to get a reaction from our products.” We decided not to move forward, thankfully, and I will be getting services elsewhere.
