Total Men's Primary Care - New Braunfels

Scheduling my appointment was super easy using their online portal. The staff were really nice and attentive. My appointment was on time and the time spent with the Nurse Practitioner was excellent. Great place to get your annual physical.

My fiancé asked me to post regarding his recent annual exam. He never complains but he was extremely unhappy when he returned home due to his interactions with the staff there. First the staff was unwelcoming and unfriendly when he arrived “I’ve never been somewhere with such poor customer service it’s like the staff doesn’t want to be there.” When the phlebotomist took his blood she did a poor painful stick (he has large veins) and him told him his blood was too thick and was dripping very slowly. I am a IV nurse and do his IV therapy regularly this made absolutely no sense but freaked him out enough to ask the doctor who said he would speak with her. He doesn’t plan on ever returning to this clinic.

I’m new to New Braunfels TX and noticed the clinic while dropping off UPS packages nextdoor. I checked out their website and reviews and decided to schedule an appointment online. Shortly after scheduling appointment, I received a text from a real person concierge (Donna). She answered a number of my questions mostly related to insurance and services. I had my initial wellness exam with Ryan, CNP, today. The appointment went smoothly from arrival/checkin, medical history and examination. Discussed all relevant history, provided blood/urine and scheduled followup visit. I like that they have several clinics within 30 minutes of me. Prior to leaving I enjoyed a coffee in their lounge. Everyone seemed professional, attentive and thorough! I look forward to obtaining continued care and referrals.

I had heard a lot about Total Men’s Primary Care from friends and family members who have used their services. This review is for intake and first visit. Excellent intake team—smiles and competent. Gladly let me get in early and didn’t have me delay for my actual time. My Nurse Practitioner (Rachel) was very patient and had excellent bedside manners. She answered all my questions and reviewed all my data that I brought with me. I can see why so many of my colleagues use their services. I will be sure to follow-up with a review once I get all lab results and further visits.

Greedy beyond belief. They wanted to charge me $200 for a virtual appointment until my insurance information was cleared and approved. I have no issue with that, but their standard practice is to hold onto that money even after insurance pays them out to use for “future visits” with no option for a refund of unused funds. My co-pay is $5! I’m not paying $195 more than I need to, especially when I’m not going to be a repeat patient. Terrible policy, terrible practice. Don’t get scammed
