My Dad had an appointment at this facility on March 24, 2026. His appointment was made in house at this clinic so they were fully aware that he was immobile. An amputee, with a remaining foot that could not be used, stuck in a wheelchair. My Dad was 81. The nurse, whom did not read his chart before coming in, tried to get a BP on his right arm which isn't possible as he has a fistula. She giggled and said oops. Then she says ok Sir I need you to change into a gown and get on the exam table. My Daddy looks up at her, slumped over in his chair and says I can't. I turn to her and say in case you cant tell he's in a wheelchair and cannot transfer himself. Do you have a Hoya? No ma'am. Do you have a transfer/slide board? No ma'am. Do you have 2 big guys that can transfer him? No ma'am. So she says Ill be right back. Her right back consisted of we don't have any of those things in this office. We need to reschedule him for next week in our Round Rock office where we do have those things. Per the ADA every doctors office is supposed to have at minimum one of the 3 things I mentioned above. This office is completely out of ADA compliance and I know for a fact that my Dad was not their only immobile patient. To top that off. My Daddy died the very next morning. I highly urge anyone considering Urology Austin to find a different urologist.
My husband and I were treated with such care by everyone we came in contact with. From beginning to end, the experience was a positive one. Each procedure was explained thoroughly by amazing nurses . . The front desk handled our admission so efficiently. Dr. Giesler was my husband's surgeon. He was amazing! Very personable and compassionate. He explained everything in an easy to understand manner. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility and I am thankful and appreciative for their care.
Dr. Shatagopam did my vasectomy, he was great, the staff was awesome. In and out within the hour. No pain medication given other than Lidocaine, DID NOT hurt at all. He made sure I was comfortable. A few days out and still no pain.
My husband has been seeing Dr Mahoney for over a decade. Great Dr, truly concerned, and since husband's accident and now paralyzed, he has really shown how much he actually does care for his patients! He does all he can to keep Neil healthy and comfortable, and it is very appreciated. My only complaint is with corporate - they don't allow staff to do prior authentications for any medication, which is ridiculous!
I am extremely disappointed with the way the urology physical therapy department handled my appointments and billing. I proactively contacted the office to reschedule a conflicting appointment. They rescheduled it without any problem, but never mentioned that doing so would trigger a $100 fee. I only discovered this after being charged. Later, I was told I had missed another appointment. I was completely unaware of it because I never received the usual email or text reminders that I normally get for every visit. When I explained this, the response was simply that their system showed the reminders as delivered, so the charge would stand. In other words, even if their own notification system failed, the patient is still fully penalized. I tried to resolve this reasonably by asking them to waive at least one of the two $100 fees due to the clear miscommunication and lack of reminders. There was zero flexibility, empathy, or willingness to consider the situation. Everything was reduced to “policy,” with no regard for fairness or patient experience. Policies should protect both the provider and the patient, not be used as a rigid tool to collect fees when communication breaks down. Being charged $200 for situations that could have been avoided with clear communication and functioning reminders feels deeply unfair and erodes trust. This experience made me feel like billing rules mattered more than patients. Because of this, I will not be returning to this department and cannot recommend it to others.
