I have long believed that the true measure of a medical institution is not found in its reputation, but in the dignity with which it treats its most vulnerable patients. That belief was profoundly shaken during my recent visit to accompany my 90-year-old mother to her appointment. A phlebotomist named Lexus demonstrated a troubling disregard for both professional judgment and patient autonomy. My mother, fully capable of expressing her needs, specifically requested that a butterfly needle be used—a reasonable request given her advanced age and fragile veins. That request was ignored. Instead, Lexus attempted the blood draw twice, missing the vein both times. To compound the matter, she appeared to select the largest butterfly needle available, seemingly under the assumption that neither my mother nor I possessed the knowledge to recognize the difference. Such condescension is unacceptable in any healthcare setting. What disturbed me most was not merely the technical failure, but the attitude accompanying it. The interaction was marked by unnecessary roughness, impatience, and a lack of compassion. Medicine is not simply a collection of procedures; it is an ethical practice grounded in respect, humility, and the obligation to minimize suffering. When healthcare professionals abandon those principles, they diminish the trust placed in them by the public. My mother has entrusted this practice with her care for many years, and until now, we have never encountered treatment of this nature. It is deeply disappointing that a patient who has shown such longstanding loyalty would be subjected to an experience so devoid of empathy and professionalism. Competence can always be improved through training. Character, however—respect for another person’s dignity—is a choice made in every patient encounter. I sincerely hope this incident is taken seriously so that no other elderly patient is made to feel as disregarded and disrespected as my mother was.

Whoever is answering the phone here is extremely rude. Picked up the phone and she was laughing and speaking to someone else in person so I waited to speak, then she abruptly yelled "Hello?" with attitude like she wasn't just speaking with someone and I was just waiting. Was going to set up my first appointment but absolutely not.

The staff are always pleasant and professional, and Dr.Manik is an excellent doctor, with amazing bedside manor.

I'm a patient here and love the ability to get in on same day appointments, having email access to my physician, and being able to get so much attention with my treatment. I've never before been able to spend so much time with a doctor and feel as though they cared about my health and well being.
